Questions involving family, cultural, historical or restricted material are handled with care and respect.
Not every collection is intended for unrestricted public access. Some photographs may belong to whānau, family, trust, business or community archives with their own viewing and publication conditions.
The Picture Library seeks to balance accessibility with appropriate stewardship, privacy and respect for the people and communities represented within the archive.
Helpful Information to Include
When contacting the Picture Library about a particular image, album or collection, include as much identifying information as possible.
A page title, gallery name, photograph title, person, location or approximate date will help the Archivist locate the relevant record quickly.
