Welcome to the Picture Library
The Picture Library is a secure and evolving visual archive created to preserve photographs, memories and historical records across the MACH BASE ecosystem.
Every photograph has the potential to tell a story. Some capture people; others preserve places, moments in time, work undertaken or family connections that might otherwise fade from memory.
Here, photographs are organised into structured collections rather than scattered albums. Titles, captions, dates, locations and contributor information provide context, allowing each image to become part of a larger historical record.
Whether documenting whānau history, community projects, cultural heritage, environmental stewardship, business development or everyday life, the Picture Library preserves visual knowledge for today’s readers and future generations alike.

A Living Visual Record
The Picture Library is designed to grow naturally over time. New photographs can be added to existing collections without rebuilding pages or disturbing established archives.
Clear titles, meaningful captions and organised albums allow every contribution to strengthen the wider historical record. Photographs can then be connected with stories, oral histories, documents, timelines and related collections.
What begins as a single image may become the starting point for a story, a family conversation, an interview or an important correction to the record.
In this way, the archive remains alive—continuing to evolve as new photographs, information and memories are shared.
