Toki no Ashiato
About The Project
Toki no Ashiato (Footprints of Time) is a heritage archive dedicated to preserving the people, places, photographs and stories that shape families and communities.
The project was created from a simple observation: every family possesses photographs, documents and memories that become more valuable with time.
Toki no Ashiato exists to help ensure those stories remain connected to the people who lived them.
Preserve The Photograph.
Preserve The Story.
Preserve The Footprints.
Why Toki no Ashiato?
The Japanese phrase Toki no Ashiato (時の足跡) translates loosely as Footprints of Time.
The name reflects the belief that every generation leaves traces behind: photographs, letters, homes, farms, churches, community halls, friendships and stories.
Some footprints are large and visible. Others survive only as fading names written beneath old photographs.
Together, they create the record of a family, a place and a people.
